Senator Craig Zucker

Senator Craig Zucker has been a member of the Maryland Senate representing part of Montgomery Country since 2016, where since 2019 he has served as a member of the Budget and Taxation Committee and since 2021 has chaired the Capital Budget Subcommittee. He has been instrumental in helping to support and fund many of our campus’ major capital projects including Zupnik Hall, a new $244M state of the art engineering building, the new Chemistry Building, the Health and Human Sciences Project as well as the campus’ first graduate student housing project in decades. Known for excellent constituent service and bipartisan efforts, Senator Zucker has championed legislation on developmental disabilities, education, and economic support. Prior to joining the Senate, Senator Zucker served for five years as a member of the House of Delegates where he was a member of the Appropriations Committee and vice chair of the Capital Budget Subcommittee.
