Wendy Stickle is the Executive Director of College Park Scholars and a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Prior to this recent appointment, she was the Program Director for UMD’s Criminology and Criminal Justice Program at the Universities at Shady Grove for 15 years.

Stickle earned a B.A. in Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland.

Stickle’s scholarship and teaching focus on human trafficking. She has designed and co-led a human trafficking education abroad program for the past 10 years.

Dr. Stickle has extensive experience on committees and boards within and outside the University. At UMD, she has served on the University Senate Faculty Affairs, Education Affairs, and Senate Executive Committees. She chaired the University Senate Programs and Curricula and Courses Committee for two years. Outside she has served and chairs the Montgomery County Criminal Justice Coordinating Commission and the Huan Trafficking Prevention Committee.
