About

Before arriving at the University of Maryland in 2012, Lucy Dalglish was executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press from 2000 to 2012. Prior to that, she was a trial lawyer at the Minneapolis-based law firm of Dorsey & Whitney, specializing in media law. She worked as a reporter and editor at the St. Paul Pioneer Press from 1980 to 1993.

Dalglish graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor's degree in journalism, followed by a Master of Studies in Law degree from Yale Law School. She holds a juris doctor degree from Vanderbilt University. Dalglish represents the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication on the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
