About
Joey Haavik is in his second year of pursuing a master's degree in international education policy. His research interests include global climate change education; diversity, equity and inclusion in international student exchange; and education in emergencies. He previously served as the graduate coordinator for LGBTQ+ involvement with the Office of Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy. Prior to coming to Maryland, Haavik worked as a student services officer with ISEP study abroad, where he also served as chair of the DEI committee. He earned a double degree in international languages and cultures (French) and in English literature from St. Mary's College of Maryland.
