About
Jim Spencer has been an Alumni Association member since 2013 and is an ex officio trustee with the University of Maryland College Park Foundation. He served in 2021 as a member of the President's Inauguration Committee. He and his wife also established the Jennifer and Jim Spencer and Family Current-Use Program Support Fund for Alumni, and they support a Terrapin Club scholarship. Spencer is executive vice president and CFO of the BGB Group in Baltimore. As a UMD student majoring in management science and statistics, he was involved in the Student Club Presidents Organization and Sigma Chi and the Maryland Lacrosse Club. He went on to earn an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania. Two of his three children currently attend UMD.
