About

Dean since November 2015, Craig Beyrouty oversees seven on-campus departments and programs and is director of the University of Maryland Extension and the Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station. He previously was dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State University, head of agronomy at Purdue University and professor at the University of Arkansas. He has led and participated in international research throughout the developing world, taught soil science at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and was recognized with awards including fellow of the Soil Science Society of America and the American Society of Agronomy.

Beyrouty earned his B.S. in soil science from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in soil chemistry from Purdue University.
