Alexandra DeBus '24

Alexandra DeBus is a senior majoring in biochemistry with an aspiration to attend medical school and embark upon a career as a practicing physician. As part of the Honors College’s Gemstone program, she is on a team researching the practical applications of the herbal compound aloe vera as an alternative treatment option for topical antibiotic ointments. Additionally, she is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, where she is the UMD chapter’s sustainability chair. She served three years with the Student Government Association, holding the positions of Greek residential legislator, deputy chief of staff and executive vice president before being elected president.
