Trustees host Maryland Gave Me luncheon for student leaders

Following its fall board meeting, the UMCP Foundation Board of Trustees continued what has become a homecoming tradition - hosting student leaders for its annual Maryland Gave Me luncheon. The event was first launched in 2018 to spark two-way storytelling and inspiration among generations of Terps, kickstart efforts to build a culture of philanthropy among students and provide a unique opportunity for trustees to interact with some of the University of Maryland's best and brightest student leaders.

This year's event featured co-hosts Wanda Alexander '81, representing trustees, and Edom Mesfein '20, representing students as president of the Student Alumni Leadership Council. Together, they facilitated discussion among dozens of students and board members on the value of giving back to the university as students and through various life stages as alumni, offering their leadership, service and philanthropy.

As participants engaged in lively conversation, quotes they each contributed appeared onscreen. A collection of these quotes and photos from the event appear below.
