Brodie Remington returns as president of UMCP Foundation through July 2021

On July 6, President Darryll J. Pines announced that Brodie Remington would assume the role of vice president for University Relations and president of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation from August 1, 2020, through July 2021.

Remington has more than 40 years of experience in advancement, including service spanning 25 years as the chief advancement officer at four institutions: the University of Oregon, Trinity College (CT), the University of Maryland and Stevens Institute of Technology. He has also been engaged in strategic planning, marketing, board development, alumni relations, and budget management.

“Brodie is a familiar and respected colleague to many of us—he previously served as vice president for University Relations from 1999 to 2012,” Pines said. "During his career, Brodie oversaw the planning and execution of five campaigns, each surpassing its goal and securing a collective total exceeding $3.2 billion. At Maryland, he executed the Great Expectations $1 billion campaign and helped establish the University of Maryland College Park Foundation.”

President Pines expressed his firm confidence in the leadership and staff of the Division of University Relations. “I have asked the Division of University Relations to accelerate philanthropic efforts in the areas of student opportunity and accessibility, diversity, and inclusion,” he said. “I am grateful that this critical work will continue.
